Jenny has been climbing for 16 years, starting as a way to get rid of all the energy she had as a youngster by going to the local indoor wall. She got onto their youth team (the only girl!), and took part in a few competitions before realising she far preferred climbing for herself, than competing. After two years in an office job (mostly time spent staring out the window) she decided to leave that nice, safe, comfortable world and become a climbing instructor! For the last ten years she’s taught all sorts, from teaching intro climbs to training new instructors in anything from rope work to climbing techniques. She is MLTB SPA qualified, and is also a PADI dive instructor, going ‘below sea level‘!
Jenny says “I love the freedom I feel when I climb, the focus it gives you (no time to dwell on anything else!), and the buzz of completing a route, whether it's a delicate slab or a hard boulder problem.”
Hails from New York, U.S.A. He has been rock climbing for 28 years. He began climbing in the Shawagunks (Gunks) of New York which is considered premiere east coast climbing in the U.S.A. Jaimie has lived and climbed in many locations, indoor and outdoor throughout the U.S, particularly North Carolina. His favorite crag is “Moore’s Wall” located in northern North Carolina. He also claims that if you can climb and protect Trad in North Carolina...you can climb and protect anywhere.
Jaimie has been living in Dahab for over 1 year now simply because he is able to pursue both of his passions...Rock Climbing and Scuba diving. Jaimie is also an Open Water Scuba Instructor and Tech Diving Manager for H2O Dive Centre. He loves the mental and physical challenge of leading an extremely difficult climb but finds equal enjoyment in helping people experience climbing for the first time.
Philosophy: Laugh everyday, especially at yourself + whenever possible...throw a Heel-Hook...it just looks cool!
